Reelfoot Lake State Park

Often considered one of the best hunting and fishing locations in the United States, Reelfoot Lake State Park has a lot to offer visitors from all walks of life. The lake itself has an area of 25,000 acres and is home to hundreds of unique plant and animals species. The park itself and the visitor's center are open all year round, except on Christmas, giving visitors the opportunity to experience nature during all four seasons of the year.
Activities at the park
Boating at the park is permitted only with vehicles under 40 horsepower. During the summer, guided tours are offered by the park's naturalists. Three pontoon cruises are offered each day, and sunset cruises are offered a few times per month. Canoe adventures also allow guests to see nesting bald eagles while designated areas make for great fishing. Crappie, beam and catfish are the most common species in this area. Permits are required to fish.
Hiking trails
There are three hiking trails at Reelfoot Lake State Park. Airpark Trail is the shortest and takes about 45 minutes to hike. It offers a great tour of the park's vegetation. The Keystone Trail is slightly longer and offers a great view of the lake, while the Black Bayou Trail is perfect for bird watching.

Picnic facilities are stationed around the park and offer grills for patrons. There are five large picnic pavilions, as well as public restrooms and several playgrounds for children.
