Nashville Parks and Recreation Areas

Tennessee is known for its beautiful rolling green hills, country atmosphere and music. There is no place within Tennessee more famous for this than Nashville. You are surrounded in an urban jungle, and with a ten minute drive, you are back out in the country, making this an ideal location if you need somewhere to get away. Luckily there are a wide variety of parks and recreation areas to choose from near Nashville.

Beaman Park

Beaman park is made up of 1688 acres and is northwest of Nashville. It is known for its rugged environment, including steep slopes on its hiking trails. It also has many different species of plants. If you work hard and brave the trails, you are rewarded with beautiful streams and waterfalls.

Bells Bend

Bells Bend is known for its archaeological significance. It is used by the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, University of Arizona-Tucson and the Southeastern Paleo-American Society. They explore mainly prehistoric indigenous groups within the United States. It received its name as it rests in the bend of the Cumberland river.

Shelby Bottoms

The Shelby Bottoms nature park is 810 acres and located in East Nashville. It has about 12 miles of nature trails and many hardwood trees. With wetlands and streams, you are sure to find all kinds of amphibious animals.

While Nashville has a lot of urban beauty that is explorable, you should also take note of the local and natural beauty it has to offer as well.
