Chickasaw State Park

Chickasaw State Park is a very large forested park with ample recreation areas. It is located in Henderson, Tennessee, in the western part of the state. There are many activities which occur within the park, making it a good destination for families.
Camping
Of the park's 14,000 acres of land, 1,280 are used for recreational activities. Camping is a popular activity here, with 13 cabins available for rental. These cabins have televisions and fireplaces and are a good choice for those who do not like or are not used to "roughing it" in the woods. For those who prefer a more rustic experience, there are three campgrounds within Chickasaw State Park. The RV campground has 52 campsites with water and electrical hookups. The tent campground has space for 29 sites. The third campground, for wranglers, is for those campers who bring horses with them. This area has 32 spaces, and all have restrooms, showers and playgrounds.
Sports and outdoor activities
The park program director offers group games, arts and crafts, evening movies, campfire programs and hay rides during the summer. In addition, there are rowboats and paddle boats available for rent. It is also possible to rent a horse for horseback riding through the park. Sports enthusiasts can also take advantage of the park's hiking trail, tennis courts, basketball courts, archery range, playgrounds, horseshoe pits, volleyball court and lighted ball field.
Chickasaw State Park offers a wide variety of activities and is an excellent choice for nearly any type of person that wants to have some fun in the outdoors.
