Bledsoe Creek State Park

Bledsoe Creek State Park is located in Sumner County, Tennessee, and encompasses 164 acres. The park makes up most of the western bank of Old Hickory Lake. It was the creation of Old Hickory Lake via the installation of the Old Hickory Dam in 1954 that eventually led to the purchase and development of Bledsoe Creek State Park, which officially opened to the public in 1973.
Hiking
Though Bledsoe Creek State Park is best known for its boating and fishing opportunities, over the years park officials have worked hard to create a trail system that currently includes more than six miles of trails. A handful of shorter trails are paved and handicapped accessible, but the park also offers more advanced trails like the three-mile High Ridge hike.
Fishing
Every year thousands of fishermen flock to Bledsoe Creek. The park boasts two different boat launches. The namesake creek and adjacent Old Hickory Lake are full of crappie, catfish, bluegill and bass.
Camping
If you want more than a single day to explore Bledsoe Creek Park, then ample camping opportunities are available onsite. The park currently offers 72 different campsites, which range from rustic wooded plots to paved areas with electric hook-ups. The park also recently added accessible showers and bathrooms.
Take a day hike along Bledsoe Creek State Park's namesake body of water or spend a whole week fishing, boating and just plain enjoying the sights. Enjoy this special gem in the state of Tennessee.
