Tennessee Parks and Attractions

Tennessee landscapes are a great example of the majesty and freedom that the North American wilderness is so known for. Though they are not as famous as the Yellowstone or Grand Teton National Parks, Tennessee boasts several state parks, most of which are historical parks founded to commemorate an event or person. If you live in Tennessee and are tired of everything you have already seen, then check this list for some new sights to see.

Historical parks in the area include the Davy Crockett Birthplace State Park, the Bicentennial Mall State Park, the Fort Loudoun State Park, the Port Royal State Park, the Red Clay State Park and the Johnsonville State Historic Park. You can even visit the Sergeant Alvin C. York State Park, which is the old estate of Sgt. York. York became famous for being a pacifist who was drafted into World War I after applying for conscientious objector status. He went on to become highly decorated for outstanding acts of courage in battle.
